TWENTYSOMETHING UNIVERSITY is intended to provide clients with a full-day event that goes beyond a Keynote Presentation. While each event is tailored to the client's specific needs, vision, and intended audience, the overall goals are usually three-fold:
TWENTYSOMETHING UNIVERSITY is typically composed of three modules conducted over a single day period. Session #1 begins with a real-time overview of the target market with a focus on key segments of interest (e.g., college, male, urban, etc.). What makes the consumer tick? What hot buttons can best be leveraged to a firm's best interest. What are best in class examples both within as well as across industries? The key deliverable is a Turbo-Charged Primer that gets your team both on the same page as well as up-to-speed. Session #2 speaks to the competitive space in which your company and brand(s) exist. What are untapped sources for competitive advantage? How does your product portfolio, brand, company stack up against the competition? Who, exactly, is your competition in the eyes of your target market? What are current and future paradigm shifts that could have a profound impact on your business model? -- and how do you ride these waves of change successfully? How can your organization more effectively capitalize on emerging technology, discoveries in in-store marketing, and more? The key deliverable is objectively inventorying the state of your company/brand against the competitive landscape in which it competes. Session #3 is a hands-on, working session that tackles a particular issue (or interlinked set of issues). The specific topic would be given to David Morrison in advance of the session to permit proper preparation. Within this session, it's time for audience members to roll up their sleeves and to take an active participatory role. Many clients have used this stage to address a key strategic issues that the organization is facing. Past topics include branding, positioning, market segmentation, new product development, employee recruiting and retention, and line extensions. If it's a topic that's keeping the Executive Board up at night, let's tackle it and generate actionable strategic and tactical solutions! Depending on audience size, multiple client teams may be created to optimize group dynamics. Morrison moves between these groups and functions as a Problem-Solving Catalyst to maximize teamwork creativity and output. Groups then present their plans in a highly interactive format where David Morrison teases out key ideas even further and refines them accordingly. During this process, feedback from other teams is solicited to expand the group's overall creative problem-solving. A primary recommendation is then singled out and further refined by the group per a subsequent break-out session that involves the entire audience. The key deliverable at the event is primary on-target solution with audience member buy-in. In addition, alternative options would also be provided. Morrison would take the insights and recommendations gleaned from Stage #3 and create a presentation that either he or a company designate could then distribute to an Executive Board, sales team, etc. Morrison could also be scheduled to attend a dinner function at the conclusion of TWENTYSOMETHING UNIVERSITY with the entire class or with select audience members for added value.
